I myself have dealt with this issue three times. During each pregnancy I gained over 20kg, although I was always determined that it would be a maximum of 10. Maybe during my first pregnancy, at the age of 29, I really felt like I had to eat for two, and the double portions were of course reflected in other parts of my body than just my belly. I breastfed all three children and always expected to “burn off” the weight I gained. No way. Even though I ate healthily, I couldn’t get rid of the fat stores while I was breastfeeding.
It is definitely not recommended to follow any diet during breastfeeding. It could result in insufficient milk production and, of course, general fatigue, which is already common after childbirth and during breastfeeding . Enjoy breastfeeding and do not start losing weight more vigorously until you stop breastfeeding your baby.
I gave birth to my third child in Denmark (my excess weight climbed to 20 kg again) and I got back in shape thanks to the NUPO Diet . This is a low-calorie diet, but its composition does not omit any important ingredient, so it also contains carbohydrates. And what is important, it teaches you to eat regular, adequate portions. With the NUPO Diet, you eat 6 times a day and you can choose between sweet shakes, savory soups or oatmeal. Weight loss starts off nicely, the pounds come off faster and that is very motivating. In six weeks, I lost 10 kg and got back to my original weight. Then I switched to the diet I was used to, that is, healthy food with a lower calorie content. I like sweets, but I treat myself to them in the morning. And I try to eat regularly and not stuff myself at night. With this diet, I maintain my weight and when it starts to climb, I start NUPO for a few days. But it's not a problem because I like NUPO and I'm not hungry at all on this diet. My favorite is probably the Mango-vanilla cocktail andthe Thai soup.
